Summer Lake Springfield bass totals: 1.5 tons of fish

When Steve Parker shared the statistics for the 2012 Lake Springfield bass tournaments he made only one brief comment.

“Pretty Interesting.”

Indeed.

Of the bass tournaments Parker organizes, including the Thursday night series, Summer Trail, MegaBux, Air National Guard Family Support benefit and July 4 Firecracker, anglers brought a total of 3,035.68 pounds of largemouth bass to the scales.

Sixteen of those fish were over five pounds.
