Another trophy deer poaching case

Two northern Illinois men have been charged with illegally taking a 13-point trophy buck in Kankakee County that scored 189 5/8 inches.

The trophy has an estimated worth in the “thousands of dollars,” according to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

Weldon “Jesse” Bean of Kankakee and Raymond Drazen of St. Anne, were charged with a dozen violation of the Illinois Wildlife Code:

1 count of accessory to unlawful take of whitetail deer with rifle
1 count of failure to tag deer immediately upon kill
1 count of falsifying deer harvest records (Sangamon Co.)
1 count of illegal transportation of uncased bow on an ATV
1 count of hunting with an invalidated permit
1 count of illegal possession of whitetail deer
1 count of unlawfully hunting without permission of landowner
1 count of accessory to unlawfully hunting within 300 yards of a dwelling with a rifle

Raymond Drazen (age 40 from St. Anne, IL)
1 count of illegally taking a whitetail deer with a rifle
1 count of unlawfully hunting without permission of landowner
1 count of unlawfully hunting within 300 yards of a dwelling with a rifle
1 count of accessory to illegal possession of whitetail deer
