Webcam shows live falcon nest in St. Louis

March 20, 2012 at 07:24 AM

The Associated Press

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A webcam has been set up in St. Louis to let the public watch peregrine falcons raising chicks in a nest.

The Missouri Department of Conservation says the video camera is recording the birds’ activities at their nest at Ameren Missouri’s Sioux Energy Center in St. Louis.

Ameren staff installed the webcam at the nest site in January. Peregrine falcons have been seen at the Sioux Energy Center since early 2011, with this year’s nesting activities first spotted last month.

The nest can be viewed on the websites of the Conservation Department, Ameren Missouri and the World Bird Sanctuary.
