Efforts are underway to form a new National Wild Turkey Federation chapter for northwest Cook County and Kane County.

“We need committee volunteers to help with fund raising to create a outdoor event during the summer for the young ones,” said organizer George Lain of Carpentersville. “We had the JakesTake Aim trailer at Cabelas in Hoffman Estates last month and about 75 kids joined in the air rifles and targets.

“There are no real good areas around to let kids try their hands at archery, rifles and the like,” he said “If i can get four more volunteers to help, we would plan to have a banquet in early April.”

Anyone interested in helping out, can call Lain at: (847) 354-9431 or e-mail: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
