Illinois schools took three of the top five places in the National Guard FLW College Fishing Central Conference tournament held on Table Rock Lake near Branson, Mo. Sunday.

Ryan Dunn and Brandon Ringer, fishing for Southern Illinois University - Carbondale won first place with five bass weighing 17 pounds, 3 ounces.

The victory earned the team $5,000.

The win also helped them advance to the Central Conference Regional Championship.

Both anglers were fishing Table Rock Lake for the first time.

Most fish were caught on Brown Craw Wiggle Warts.

Ringer caught the largest fish of the day – a five-pounder – with an Alabama Rig.

The tournament originally had been scheduled for March 3, but was rescheduled due to storm damage in the area caused by an outbreak of tornadoes.

Other top five teams that are advancing to the Central Regional Championship are:

Second place:
Winona State University – Cade Laufenberg, Stoddard, Wis., and Sam Schollmeier, Rochester, Minn. (five bass, 16 pounds, 3 ounces, $1,500)

Third place:
Georgetown College – Mike Huff, Corbin, Ky., and Nick Huff, Georgetown, Ky.
(five bass, 15 pounds, 14 ounces, $1,000)

Fourth place:
Southern Illinois-Edwardsville – Justin Skinner, Taylorville., and Brad Lemasters, Edwardsville. (five bass, 15 pounds, 11 ounces, $1,000)

Fifth place:
Eastern Illinois University – Dan Martin, Elmhurst, and Michael March, Chicago, (five bass, 14 pounds, 8 ounces, $1,000)
