S. Illinois Boat and Fishing Show Feb. 5-7

There may not be a free lunch, but most everything else at the Southern Illinois Boat & Fishing Show is free.  Free parking, free admission, free entertainment, free seminars, a free look at the 2010 boats and all the latest fishing tackle.

The event, sponsored by Marion Toyota & Tundra Trucks, will be held Friday February 5, 2010 to Sunday February 7, 2010 at the Williamson County Pavilion, 1602 Sioux Drive, Marion, IL.  Other sponsors include, Golden Eagle Distribution, Marion, IL, Rhino Linings of Southern Illinois, Youth Outdoor Education Foundation of Carterville, IL and Williamson County Tourism Bureau.

Show hours are Friday from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., Saturday 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. and Sunday from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M.

A special drawing will be held on Friday night for people attending that evening.  The prize is $500 cash.

Providing musical entertainment on Saturday from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. will be the Tom Cat Hill Social Club, a popular Bluegrass group.

A special vendors area will display fishing, and hunting equipment as well as clothing and related items.  Many will feature show specials for those wanting to stock up for the boating and fishing season.

Back by popular demand are two seminars by crappie fishing expert, Charlie Hogg.  He will appear on Saturday at noon and Sunday at 1 P.M.  On Sunday at 3 P.M. will be a special seminar on the local fishing scene presented by three Fisheries Managers from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.  The speakers will be Mike Hooe, Shawn Hirst, and Chris Bickers.

Participating boat dealers include: Harrison’s Sport Shop, Kinkaid Village Marine, Rend Lake Marina, Anna/Jonesboro Motor Company, Kentuckiana Yacht Sales, Mt. Vernon Mariner, and Rend Lake RV & Marine.
