Rainy conditions put a damper on the archery deer harvest during the middle of last week, but numbers rebounded somewhat on the weekend.
Illinois archery deer hunters have killed a preliminary total of 24,625 deer through Nov. 3.
Preliminary numbers through the same period last year totaled 28,543.
Rainy conditions on Wednesday and Thursday kept harvest very low on those dates.
Weekend harvest improved with about 4,000 deer taken on Saturday and Sunday.
Sex ratios to date have consisted of 61 percent does (15,039) and 39 percent males (9,586).
Buck harvest last week topped doe harvest for the first time this season with bucks comprising 52 percent over the last seven days.
The top five counties were Pike (988), Fulton (712), Jefferson (602), JoDaviess (529), and Adams (505).
County-by-county numbers are below.
