Parfitt and Rath win September catfish tournament on Lake Springfield

Prairie State Outdoors

Bill Parfitt and Jason Rath won the most recent installment of the Lake Springfield Open Buddy Catfish Tournament Series Sept. 15 with six channel catfish weighing 42.6 pounds.

Second place went to Joe Ludtke And Jerry Cline, with six channel catfish weighing 40.7 pounds.

Mark and Bill Bozarth took third place with six channel catfish weighing 39.8 pounds.

Big Fish of the night went to Bob Hibbs And Nick Brown

They weighed a 12.9 pounds channel catfish.

Thirty teams competed.

The next tournament is the annual two-day classic to be held Oct. 6-7.

Signup is from 6 - 6:45 a.m. at the Beach House across from the Lindsay Bridge Boat Ramp.

The Classic is open to anyone.

Tournament hours are:

7 a.m. - 3 p.m. both days

There is a $100 per boat entry fee (includes big Fish)
