RESULTS
Trap shooting

* Members of the Peoria Skeet & Trab Club won awards at the Grand American Trap Shoot held Aug. 3-15 at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta. Preliminary week award winners were: Hodgdon Powder Singles - Marv Kuebler, C class third place (99). Trapshooting USA Handicap - Ron Piro, 23-24-yard runner-up (96). Mayor’s Handicap - Tim Turpin, fourth place overall (99); Dave Dressler, eighth place (98); and Jerry Hasler, senior vet runner-up (98). Browning Doubles - Ron Piro, senior vet runner-up (95). National Team Race - Dave Dressler, Illinois third place; Larry Lark, Illinois vet. third place. Grand American week award winners: Blaser Handicap - Roger Proctor, sixth place overall. Silver Seitze All-Around (400 possible), Kevin Wunder (389), A class runnerup. Chuck Mellott, a life member of Peoria Skeet & Trap Club, received recognition for attending his 45th Grand American event.


Bass tournaments

* Steve Graves of Pekin won the River City Casters tournament last Sunday at Lake Jacksonville with six fish weighing 18.6 pounds. He also won big bass (4.12). Danny Cunningham of Pekin and Thad Altman of Manito tied for second (6, 15.0).
* Faith Wright and Grant Jamison placed first in the Fellowship of Christian Anglers’ Kyle Myers Memorial Youth Tournament on Aug. 6 at Banner Marsh Shovel Lake. Wright won the age 7-12 division with two fish weighing 3.7 pounds. Brock Gregory was second (1, 1.22) and Jenna Goeken third (1, 1.08). Jamison won the age 13-17 division with five fish weighing 8.46 pounds. Baylor Howard was second (3, 3.74).
