Trap shooting

Winners in the Peoria Skeet and Trap Club’s Illini Indian Coin Shoot last Sunday included: Doubles — Bill Jordan, A class (98x100); Terry O’Brien, B (97); Pat Hermes, C (93); and Clifford Glardon, D (83). Singles — Bruce Bennett, A class (99x100); Tom Kraus, B (99); Don Gillmore, C (93); Chuck Mellott, D (94); Anita Knearem, Lady (98); Josh Matzke, Junior (94); Michael McLachlan, Sub Junior (88); Pete Bartolo, Veteran (98); and Dick Garey, Senior Veteran (98). Handicap — Terry O’Brien, champion (98x100); Dennis Kerns, 18-21 yards (96); Bruce Bennett, 22-24 yards (97); and Mike Dennis, 25-27 yards (95).

Bass tournaments

Danny Cunningham of Pekin won the River City Casters tournament last Sunday at Jim Edgar Panther Creek with four fish weighing 13.15 pounds. John Garrett of Pekin caught six fish also totalling 13.15 pounds, but Cunningham won the tiebreaker (largest bass). Ryan Ortega of Pekin was third (5, 9.11). Cunningham won big bass (5.4).

Jim Busche of Groveland won the Illinois Central Bass Club tournament July 12 with five fish weighing 13.50 pounds. Bill Hurst of Bartonville was second (5, 10.06) and Frank Campbell of Brimfield third (5, 9.78). Busche won big bass (4.34).

Brent Weeries and Charlie Robbins of Morton won the Central Illinois Bass Club tournament (four-fish limit) last Sunday at Lake Jacksonville with four fish weighing 13 pounds, 6 ounces. Matt Molitor of Manito and Dave Cafaude of Pekin placed second (4, 12.0) and John Littlepage of East Peoria and Gary Littlepage placed third (3, 9.8). Weeries/Robbins also won big bass (6.2).
