Hunters breakfast

Izaak Walton League Peoria Chapter is hosting Hunters Breakfast at its clubhouse, 1125 Spring Bay Road in Spring Bay. Open to all members as well as the public. Doors open from 4 to 11 a.m. Questions, call (309) 643-5136.

UPCOMING EVENTS
IDNR Youth Goose Hunt

IDNR Central Illinois Youth Goose Hunt is accepting registrations. The hunt, open to ages 10-15, runs Dec. 26-27 at private waterfowl hunting clubs in Peoria, Fulton and Knox counties. Hunters must call (217) 785-8060 to register for a drawing to participate in the hunt. Registration deadline is Dec. 7. Drawing will be Dec. 10 and youth hunters selected will be notified by mail. First-time applicants will be given priority over previous participants in the drawing. Applicants must have completed a hunter safety education course, possess a valid Illinois hunting or sportsman’s license, have a Harvest Information Program (HIP) registration number, and have a 20-gauge or larger shotgun. Youth hunt participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who must possess a valid firearm owner’s identification (FOID) card. For more information, call the number above.

Dec. 4 — Illinois Valley Archaeological Society meets 7 p.m. at Dickson Mounds Museum in Lewistown, (309) 547-3721.

Herpetology event

Dec. 6 — Central Illinois Herpetological Society meets 7 p.m. at Forest Park Nature Center, (309) 682-6208.
