Muskie, Canada headline show schedule

Toothy critters and the land up north are the focus of this weekend’s two major outdoor shows in Illinois, both of which will be held in the Chicago area.

Starting Thursday through Sunday is the All-Canada Show at Pheasant Run in St. Charles. Admission is $10, $8 for seniors and kids ages 13-16, free for those 12 and under. Parking is also free.

The show is a good one for anglers planning Canada trips. Passport sign-ups will also be available and Babe Winkelman will be in the Ontario booth on Thursday. To learn more call (800) 325-6290.

Opening Friday through Sunday is the Chicago Muskie Show at Harper College in Palatine. Tickets are $10 (free for those 12 and under) and a three-day pass is $20. Parking is also free.

Speakers include Joe Bucher on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., Jim Saric on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Spence Petros on Saturday at 4 p.m. Former Knoxville resident Larry Ramsell will also interview Dale MacNair on Friday at 7 p.m. Click here to read more about MacNair’s monster 57-inch muskie he caught and released on the St. Lawrence River.

There is also an Adventures in Travel Expo Saturday and Sunday at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. Tickets are $15 (under 16 free) and parking is $11.

Finally, in Kankakee there will be an Outward Bound Adventure Sports Show on Saturday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1000 N. Entrance Ave., Kankakee. The show hours are 2-7 p.m. Click here to read more about the show.
