Lake Springfield catfish and bass tourney results

Lake Springfield catfish results

John Fifer and Aaron Taylor took first place in the July 20 Lake Springfield Open Buddy Catfish Tournament Series event with a catch of six channel catfish weighing 48.7 pounds.

Rusty and Penny Rutherford took second with a total of 35.2 pounds.

Third place went to Mark and Bill Bozarth with five channel catfish and on blue catfish for a total of 34.5 pounds.

Fifer and Taylor also took big fish honors with a channel catfish weighing 14.3 pounds.

Thirty boats competed.

The next tournament will be held Aug. 17 with sign up from 5 – 5:45 p.m. at the beach house across from the Lindsay Bridge Boat Ramp.

Tournament hours are 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. The entry fee is $60 per boat with an optional $10 per boat for the big fish pot.

Lake Springfield Summer Trail

Herb Rush and Steve Parker won the Lake Springfield Summer Trail bass tournament held July 20 with a catch weighing 15.99 pounds.

Jim Dietel and Jeff Motter were second with 12.69 pounds. Third went to Jeff Sexton and Chris Sexton with 11.79 pounds.

Scott Haake and Troy Lowery took big bass honors with 6.03 pounds.

Nineteen boats competed.
