IFOR sponsoring outdoors skills camp

The Illinois Federation For Outdoor Resources will hold its 15th annual Youth Skills Camp at Carlyle Lake, July 29-31.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 10 to 16.

IFOR camp counselors will help the participants learn about hunting, fishing, trapping, archery, firearm handling and safety, shooting sports, survival training and horseback riding. Clinics about ecology, conservation and dog training also will be offered.

The camp will be held at the Lotus Group campsite located in the Coles Creek Recreation Area.

The camp will open with a cookout the evening of July. Classes and outdoor activities will be held all day July 30 and the morning of July 31.

The event will conclude on Sunday at Noon.

Participation in the camp is limited to the first 50, and the deadline to register is July 15th.

The cost is $50 per child.

The cost covers lodging, meals, a camp T- shirt and other amenities.
