Who says you can’t catch big bass after spring?
Though summer bass patterns are here, two central Illinois tournaments produced impressive winning weights last Sunday.
Top showing was at Banner Marsh West where Tim McCoy and Adam Jaegle of Bartonville won a Bass 25 Peoria event with six fish weighing 24.75 pounds. Overall 43 teams weighed 156 fish averaging 2.03 pounds led by Rusty Stear’s relatively skinny 6-pounder out of the East Point Access.
That same day, Seth Heberer and Tim Feicke of Pekin brought six bass weighing 23.13 pounds to the scales at north Spring Lake to win a Central Illinois bass tournament. The Spring Lake event produced two lunkers over 7 pounds, including one caught by Heberer and Feicke.
