Fishing tournament results from Lakes Springfield and Sangchris

Lake Springfield Open Buddy Catfish Tournament Series

The top three teams weighed more 51 pounds of fish each each during the May 19 installment of the Lake Springfield Open Buddy Catfish Tournament Series.

Thirty-four boats competed during the first night tournament of the season.

First place went to Rick and Ray Booth with 51.8 pounds. They also weighed the biggest fish of the night, a channel catfish weighing 16.6 pounds.

Mike and Rick White tied for second place with Mark Bozarth and Brock Workman. Both teams weighed 51.1 pounds.

The next tournament is June 9.

Signup is from 5 - 5:45 p.m. at the Lindsay Bridge Boat Ramp.

Take-off is 6 p.m.

The entry fee is $60 plus $10 for the big fish pot.

Sangchris Bass Club

Melvin and Jake Argo took first place in the Sangchris Bass Club qualifier held May 6 with a catch weighing 17.53 pounds.

Dave Sapetti and Mark Heil were second with 17.09 pounds.

Jeremy Mull and Jacob Olsson were third with 16.98 pounds.

Big bass went to Bill and Eric Garrett with a fish weighing 4.62 pounds.
