NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — One of the five permits for this year's elk hunt in Tennessee has been donated to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation.
Each year, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency awards four permits by random computer drawing. The fifth one is given to a non-governmental organization.
The foundation will auction its permit on eBay and put the proceeds into the state elk restoration program. Online bids for the permit will be taken Thursday through July 28.
Applications for the other four permits must be submitted by midnight July 24.
The hunt will be Oct. 21 through Oct. 25 at the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area.
