BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota wildlife officials say conditions are good for duck hunting throughout most of the state.
A state Game and Fish Department spokesman says an annual fall survey shows a record number of wetlands in the northwest, while the rest of the state has wetlands similar to the 10-year average.
The duck hunting season opened last weekend for residents. It opened this weekend for nonresidents. It runs through Dec. 1.
State migratory game bird biologist Mike Szymanksi (shuh-MAN'-skee) says most areas are wetter than last year, but hunters should always scout areas first because of changing conditions and waterfowl patterns.
