Bird hikes on Elkhart Hill scheduled for April 27

ELKHART — The Elkhart Historical Society will host Bird Watcher Walks at 6 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 1:30 and 5 p.m. Saturday April 27 at Birdsong Books and Vintage Shoppe, 111 Governor Oglesby St., Elkhart as part of Elkhart’s April “Celebrate Spring!” events.

Walkers will look for the migratory birds that pass through Elkhart Hill every spring. Walks last approximately 90 minutes and cost $10 for adults and $7.50 for children 12 and younger. Registration is limited to 15 people per walk and forms are available at http://www.elkharthistoricalsociety.org/.

Walkers can also participate in the “Walk with Lunch and Lecture.” The lunch and lecture tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger. Lunch includes soup and half sandwich or quiche with dessert and beverage at The Wild Hare Café, 102 Governor Oglesby St., Elkhart.
