February 24, 2013 at 05:58 PM

Peoria Journal Star

Elmwood High School and Grade School will be transformed into a hub of hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation March 2-3 for the fourth annual Elmwood All Outdoors Show.

More than 100 fishing and hunting vendors will showcase their wares at the show, which fills two gyms and all hallways at the schools.

The family-friendly show offers free parking with no admission charge for youngsters ages 13 and under. Admission is $5 for adults. Youngsters can also enjoy a fishing pond and archery range.

New this year are wild birds and animals from Wildlife Prairie Park, a dog training seminar and demonstrations, expanded cooking seminars, flint knapper Mark McDaniel and a replica of the world record smallmouth bass.

Seminar speakers include Matt Cheever (deer and cooking), Steve Welch (crappie), Jonn Graham (smallmouth bass), Darrel Sidney (bear hunting), Jay Wade (dog training), Paul Center (fishing) and Chef Todd (wild game cooking).

There will also be a big buck contest. Mounted deer heads and antlers can be dropped off from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 1 and 9 a.m. to noon March 2. One in 15 entries wins a prize.

Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. For information, visit http://www.elmwoodalloutdoors.com or call (309) 231-6040.
