ANTIOCH, Ill. (AP) — Officials say they're looking for help identifying the thieves of 19 high-end BB guns stolen from a cabin at a state natural area in northern Illinois.

Authorities say the guns were taken from the Redwing Slough-Deer Lake State Natural Area near Antioch. The News-Sun in Waukegan reports (http://bit.ly/144cO6W) that the Avanti 499 guns sell for $140 and some of them had expensive sights. The guns are used during outdoor youth events.

Chuck Miller is a former Antioch police chief and was hired by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to manage the 720-acre preserve. He says he discovered the thefts last month and reported them to conservation police.

Miller says there is reward money available. He asks anyone with information to call the Lake County Crime Stoppers.
