Willie Urish sent in a photo of his successful turkey hunt this spring. “He was my ‘best’ bird ever.” The turkey was 22 pounds, and had two beards of 8.5 and 10.5 inches. The spurs were 1 1/8 inches.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources fisheries division reports a recent fish kill on Lake Springfield involved hundreds of white bass.
