Steve and Penny Bateson win latest installment of Ol’ Joe’s Catfish tournament series

Steve and Penny Bateson of Clinton took first place in the monthly Ol’ Joe’s catfish tournament series with six fish weighing in at 32.2 pounds.
Eighteen boats turned out for the tournament held Aug. 4 on Clinton Lake.
Second place went to John Hibbs of Decatur and Big Bill Keiser of Bloomington with a six fish weighing 30.9 pounds.
Third place went to Ron Carter and Doug Cox of Clinton with a six fish weighing 27.7 pounds.
Joe Solomon and Joe Crawford of Normal took big fish honors with a channel catfish weighing 7.3 pounds.
The next tournament is Aug.25, launching from the Weldon Ramp, Clinton Lake at 5 p.m.
