Conservation tours
Conservation tours of the Gilles Family Farm will be at 9 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. July 10-11. Program includes CRP, CREP, terraces, dry dams, wetlands, food plots, tree plantings, cool season grasses and native prairie grass plantings. RESULTS
Bass tournaments
Todd Mull and Bob Hartman won Presley’s tournament Monday at Banner Marsh Main with three fish weighing 10.82 pounds. Adam Jaegle and Tim McCoy placed second (3, 10.73) and John Romaine and Dan Clark third (3, 10.16). Big bass was won by Mitch Weber and Dan Kneer (5.12).
Ryan Maddox of Canton won the Illini Lunker Hunters Bass Club tournament June 30 at Lakeland Park with six fish weighing 13.18 pounds. Dennis Woods of Mapleton placed second (6, 12.18) and Kip Stevenson of Elmwood third (6, 11.21). Maddox also won the big bass award (5.15).
Jeff Meeker of Forest City and Caleb Smith of Pekin won the Central Illinois Bass Club tournament June 24 at Spring Lake with four fish weighing 18 pounds. Billy Canada and Brad Heitzman of Manito placed second (4, 17.02) and Larry Leemon of East Peoria and Jim Bowman of Manito third (4, 15.06). Meeker and Smith also captured big bass (5.08). There was a four-fish limit.
Matt Bennett and Pat Wright won the Fellowship of Christian Anglers Society tournament June 30-July 1 at Lake Sara with 24 fish weighing 54.58 pounds. Dave Ekema and Cody Weinstein placed second (24, 40.85) and Keith Whitaker and Walt Van Dyke third (24, 36.85). Bennett won big bass (5.38).
Dean Mahurin and Rick Manz won the Fellowship of Christian Anglers Society tournament June 21 at Banner Marsh Main with seven fish weighing 13.4 pounds. Keith Whitaker and Joe Lane placed second (5, 11.71) and Larry Miller and Bob Hartman Sr. third (7, 11.20). Whitaker and Joe Lowery tied for big bass (3.65).
