Northeast Illinois waterfowl survey

Duck and Canada goose counts are well below the five-year average in northeast Illinois.
According to the Oct. 19 aerial survey, there were only 565 ducks and 1,900 geese in the survey area—compared to the five-year averages of 1,163 ducks and 5,399 geese.
