Morel festival, auction in Wyoming
The first Morel Mushroom Festival and Auction has been scheduled for May 2 in Wyoming at Thomas Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event will include a morel auction at 1 p.m. Sellers can sign up from 9-11 a.m. Selling order will be picked at 11 a.m. Each seller is allowed eight, eight-ounce bags for each round. All sellers will be allowed to sell additional bags. A small fee will be charged to cover the cost of the auction. We are asking people to not wash their morels but to remove as much dirt as possible.
Booth space is also available. Booth spaces may be purchased in advance. On site registration for spaces will be available from 7-9 a.m.
The event is being sponsored by the Wyoming Area Chamber of Commerce and the Stark County Economic Development Office.
Wyoming is located on Routes 17 and 91, 30 miles northwest of Peoria. It can be reached from I-74 and I-80.
