Lake Shelbyville boat ramp closures

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a Lake Shelbyville Managed Youth Deer Hunt on Oct. 10-11.  The hunt will be conducted in portions of recreation areas previously closed for the season. 

As a safety precaution, Lone Point Campground except for the boat ramp and all of Opossum Creek and Whitley Creek Recreation Areas will be closed to automobile and pedestrian traffic from 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 until 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct.r 11, 2009.  Wilborn Creek Recreation Area still remains closed due to construction and will reopen in November 2009.

These closings include boat ramps located within Opossum Creek, Whitley Creek, and Wilborn Creek Recreation Areas.  Boat ramps within Dam West, Lithia Springs, Lone Point, Coon Creek, and Bo Wood Recreation Areas and Eagle Creek and Wolf Creek State Parks will remain open.
