Lake Camelot ice tourney a go
Organizers say there will be enough ice for the 30th annual Lake Camelot ice fishing tournament Saturday.
“On Saturday we still had 7-8 inches of ice on the upper lake and with cold weather all this week it looks good,” said Jim Modglin, an event organizers.
Edges of the lake had come open with the warm weather and rain, but that is expected to change by Saturday given the predicted frigid temperatures.
Fishing is 7 a.m. to noon at the subdivision southwest of Peoria off West Lancaster Road. Register at the clubhouse Friday from 6-9 p.m. or Saturday starting at 6 a.m.
Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under. Bait will be sold.
