Foiles waterfowl event May 22-23
Jeff Foiles of Foiles Migrators, Inc. will holds his 6th Annual Waterfowl Weekend May 22 and 23 at the Foiles Migrators facility located in the Industrial Park, north of Pittsfield on US Hwy 54.
Two sanctioned duck calling contests will be held on Saturday: the Illinois State Duck and the Two Rivers Regional. Other contests being held on Saturday are the Illinois State Jr Duck 12 & under and 16 & under, Illinois State 2-Man Meat Duck and the Ole Timers Flute Only Goose.
Sunday’s contests are Illinois State Jr Goose 12 & under and 16 & under, Novice Goose, Illinois State 2-Man Meat Goose and the Illinois State Goose. Contests begin at 9:30 each day. Last year’s event was very successful with over 80 callers participating in the contests. Top prizes for the Illinois State Duck, Illinois State Goose and the Two Rivers Regional are yet to be announced, but should be valued around $1000.
In addition to the calling contests, the Foiles showroom will be open with a full line of products available for purchase. The latest DVD in the Fallin’ Skies series, Fallin’ Skies 7, will be available for purchase. A new layout blind, the “Strait Stealth” will make its debut.
Vendors will be set up outside and food will be available
A Promatic trap thrower will be set up for shooting demonstrations near the facility. Participants will be able to try out the new Benelli Vinci shotgun, the “Strait Heat” choke tube and Federal ammo.
There will be live entertainment both Friday and Saturday nights at The Back Alley Bar & Grill. A hog roast is also planned for Saturday evening. Weather permitting, both evening’s events will be held outside. All events are open to the general public.
