Duck, Canada goose season set in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Goose hunters will enjoy a longer season this year and duck hunters will be allowed to take up to four daily scaup.
The Michigan’s Natural Resources Commission says early Canada goose hunting season begins statewide Sept. 1 and runs through Sept. 10 in the Upper Peninsula and parts of the Lower Peninsula that include Saginaw, Tuscola and Huron counties. The season runs through Sept. 15 in the rest of the state. The daily bag limit is five.
Regular goose season begins Sept. 22 in the Upper Peninsula and Sept. 29 elsewhere.
Duck season begins Sept. 22 in the Upper Peninsula, Sept. 29 in mid-Michigan and Oct. 6 elsewhere.
Licensed hunters may take up to six ducks daily.
