Conservation grants available
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Illinois officials are accepting proposals for grants to help protect wildlife this year.
The Department of Natural Resources will applications for the grants funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service through April 2.
The State Wildlife Grant program provides funds to protect and manage non-game species that the Illinois Wildlife Action Plan has identified as needing protection.
The plan is developed by scientists, sportsmen, conservationists and others. The grants provide funding to every state to support conservation efforts to prevent endangering wildlife.
