Catfish tourney in Quad Cities
WhereIFish.Com hosts the ‘Mighty Muddy Catfish Classic’ in the Quad Cities on Saturday, September 12, 2009.
The tournament festivities begin on Friday, Sept.11 at 6:00 PM with a meet and greet and dinner buffet at Jumer’s Casino and Hotel,
777 Jumer Drive, in Rock Island, IL. Dinner buffet is optional and will be $15 per person.
The tournament is Saturday, Sept. 12 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sunset Marina in Rock Island, IL. Immediately following the weigh-ins, there will be an awards ceremony, followed by a fish fry sponsored by the Rock Island Boat Club. The fish fry will be free for participants and a small donation for all other attendees.
The Mighty Muddy Catfish Classic is a buddy tournament with two people per boat. All entries are based on two people The entry fee for Channel Catfish competition is $100.00 per boat, with additional opportunities to compete with big channel catfish and flathead catfish available.
There is a guaranteed cash prize of $10,000 for the contestant who breaks the current Illinois state record for Channel Catfish of 45 lbs, 4 oz during the tournament. Top prize for Channel Cats based on total weight of up to 10 fish is $2,000 and 2 Blackhorse Twisted Cat® Custom-made Tourney Series Rods. Top prize for Flathead Cats based on total weight of 1 fish per person is $500.
