Bellrose Waterfowl Reserve to be open for public viewing Feb. 4
The Bellrose Waterfowl Reserve, an area typically closed to the public, will be open from 3 - 6 p.m. Feb. 4 to allow visitors to watch ducks and geese arriving at sunset to roost on the icy water.
The Bellrose Waterfowl Reserve includes 400 acres of wetlands that are managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, as part of the Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge, to provide food and shelter for waterfowl during migration.
The reserve is located at 2808 Butter Ridge Road, Ullin.
Staff will provide spotting scopes and binoculars.
Please call ahead in the event of inclement weather or freezing temperatures (if the water freezes, there may not be many birds to watch).
For more information call the Cypress Creek NWR at (618) 634-2231.
