Battle over gun club continues

The Belleville News-Democrat reports that “St. Clair County taxpayers have so far spent nearly $275,000 in legal and consulting fees during the county’s four-year effort to shut down and seize the Caseyville Rifle and Pistol Club, in Mascoutah.”
Writes Mike Fitzgerald:
County leaders want to shut down the 32-acre outdoor shooting range, which opened in March 2007, on the grounds it poses a hazard to the aircraft flying in and out of nearby Scott Air Force Base—and therefore jeopardizes the air base’s future.
