Bass tournaments to benefit National Guard families scheduled this summer

Help support families of National Guard troops on deployment.

Fundraising bass fishing tournaments to assist families of deployed National Guard members are planned for Springfield and Jacksonville.

The Eighth Air National Guard Family Support Open Buddy Bass Tournament will be held on Lake Springfield June 26.

Hours are 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The entry fee is $130 per boat ($25 goes to family support).

The Second Air National Guard Family Support Open Buddy Bass Tournament will be held on Lake Jacksonville Aug. 28.

Hours and entry fee are the same as for the Springfield tournament.

There is a 30-boat limit on Lake Jacksonville.

The Family Readiness and Support Group formed to provide help, training and assistance to family of National Guard troops, and to help with issues that arise during deployment.
