BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A second mountain lion has been killed this fall in western North Dakota.
State Game and Fish Department biologist Stephanie Tucker says the cat was killed Saturday by a hunter in Billings County who was looking for elk.
The mountain lion season will close in the western part of the state when the quota of eight cats are killed. The rest of the state has no limit.
The season runs through March. The first cougar killed was reported last month, east of Watford City.
Tucker said the mountain lion killed Saturday was a 133-pound male cat ranging in age from a year to 2½ years old.
