From Matt Westendorf: “Here is a picture of one of the nice crappie we caught while down in Mississippi in late March. This one is a 2 pounder caught the 22nd of March on Grenada Lake. The weather did not cooperate (4 days of cold, wind and rain) on this trip but we still managed to put some nice fish in the boat.”
It's early. There's ice in some lakes, water is cold, fish are sluggish. Slowly but surely the bite is improving. Walleye are biting below dams. Bass are starting. Warm afternoons should yield crappie soon. And now and then anglers can hook toothy critters like the 43-inch muskie above that Bob Steflin took from the Fox River. STORY & COMMENTS
The Lutheran High School bass fishing team was first to the weigh-in last Friday at the conclusion of the Illinois High School Association bass fishing sectional tournament held at Lake Sangchris.
