Hanna City brothers Josh and Jacob Ruchotzke both face tremendous physical obstacles. Jacob, 11, has been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, while his older brother Josh, 14, lost his legs and most of his fingers to a severe infection. Yet both brothers were able to shoot their first deer duing the Illinois Youth Firearms Hunt. The hunt was arranged by the Heart of Illinois Whitetails chapter of Whitetails Unlimited.
Nerissa McClelland may be the state’s newest fisheries biologist, but she brings years of experience to the job. McClelland replaces Dan Stephenson, who served as the Illinois Department of Natural Resources district fisheries biologist in central Illinois for more than 30 years.
