Matt Staser of Brimfield caught this baby sand shark during a family vacation to southern Delaware on July 20. “I told the kids we don’t know what we will catch, but we might catch a shark,” Staser said. “They were both excited about that but didn’t want me to catch a big one. So after fishing for a few hours and even having a group of dolphins come say ‘Hi,’ I finally got a fish on. It was the only thing we caught, but it’s what the kids wanted so it made the whole trip.”
An algae outbreak has closed off several lakes in northern Illinois to boaters and swimmers. The blue-green algae, which release potentially harmful toxins into the water, has flourished because of the warm, dry and sunny weather. STORY & COMMENTS
