Marc Anthony of Goodfield owns and operates Look Alive Taxidermy and Non Typical Hunter magazine. Anthony grew up in central Illinois and spent eight years as a commercial pilot before giving that up to spend more time with his wife Jan and three children, Victoria, Drake and Elesa. Anthony hunted on and off as a child but started seriously at age 30 and focuses on bowhunting for deer and turkeys. He's arrowed four bucks that meet the Boone and Crockett Club (net) standards and 20 Pope and Young Club qualifiers. Anthony is on the Pro Staff for Muzzy broadheads, Bear Archery, Vital Gear, Natural Predator, Non Typical Hunter and several other companies. He also is a member of the Outdoor writers Association of America, OWAA.

I hit the jackpot!

Scouting through my new hunting ground yesterday, I hit an area that looked very promising for this Fall’s hunt. I first stumbled in an area that was all torn up by turkeys! By looking at the ground, I identified Jake droppings and patches of ground all scratched up by turkeys. From there, I found old buck rubs and scrapes. Then, after identifying a solid food source, I was combing through a well used bedding area which then lead me to a deeper, more secluded area. I was sure I was going to find what I was looking for once I got around the corner. Well, lets just say I found what I should have expected…a washing machine! Yikes!

What’s with this? It seems like every bit of beautiful property I have the opportunity of scouting, I always find trash? Didn’t anyone respect the timber back in the old days? Oh well, I just shook my head and continued only to find this around the other corner…go figure! Anyone looking for a car?
