Greg Hickey of Morton caught this this 21.5-inch largemouth bass out of a private lake in Tazewell County on a Texas-rigged Y-Not soft plastic bait. The bass was near a return pipe that was pumping water from one lake to another.

After a few tries, the pump motor roared to life, and water began gushing Wednesday into a duck-hunting area at Sangchris Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area near Rochester.
