The Latest Camo Pattern
July 07, 2009 at 01:56 PM
Mother nature was experimenting with new camo patterns long before today’s sporting goods manufacturers got in the game. On this lead plant flower at Revis Hill Prairie in Mason County are a pair of lead plant moths (Schinia lucens). The moth has very “cryptic” coloration designed to let it pass unnoticed. Camouflage is just one of nature’s many survival strategies, but it’s one that hunters, birders and other outdoors men and women can especially appreciate.
