All the wet weather this spring and summer has been a boon for some, including a white-tailed deer cooling off at The Nature Conservancy’s Emiquon Preserve in Fulton County. It is interesting to note that most of us associate white-tailed deer with forest edges - with occasional forays out into crop fields at dusk. Watching deer make a living in an around a large wetland restoration like this one at Emiquon, makes one wonder how else nature will continue to challenge our pre-conceptions as we restore high-quality habitats.
