Prairie Impressionist

Heat rising from a prairie burn created a shower glass effect and gave this photo the look of an impressionist painting.

It is always a gamble to photograph through and around things, and shooting across the prairie fire was no exception. Some photos turn out, but most don’t succeed. It is part of the fun of photography to experiment and then celebrate when things go our way. That’s when we can say with smug satisfaction, “I planned it that way.”
