Take your pick of the top places to camp, fish in IllinoisThere are many great places to camp and fish in Illinois. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources manages 324 state parks, fish and wildlife areas, state forests and other sites.

George Little: Be prepared for thunderstormsWith all the rain, we didn’t have many thunderstorms with flashing lightning and booming thunder. Those of us who love a good thunderstorm (and a safe observation point) were deprived of nature’s fireworks. There’s still time.
