Jubilee College State Park superintendent Tom Hintz shared this picture of skunk cabbage, an early spring bloomer he photographed last Friday. Writes Hintz: “It gets its name from its foul odor, like rotting flesh. This attracts early hatching insects who feed on thawing dead animals, they pollinate this plant. It has an amazing ability to thaw the snow around it.”
