James Williams’ 11-pointer
Trophy Tidbits
Scorable Points: 11
Kill Date: Nov. 21, 2009
County: Perry
Season: Shotgun
EDITOR’S NOTE: Here in the words of Pinckneyville gun hunter James Williams is the story of his hunt for an 11-point Perry County buck.
I have hunted the area for most of the bow season and had never seen this deer.
The deer came walking up the edge of the creek I was hunting on and I could tell this deer was very wide. He made it to approximately 80 yards away from me where I was able to make a perfect heart shot with my T/C Omega muzzleloader.
The deer ran approximately 20-30 yards before going down.
It wasn’t until I walked up on him that I realized what a magnificent whitetail this was. The deer measured 25 1/4 inches inside spread, had a drop tine, 7 1/2 inch bladed brow tines and right and left split G2’s.
This is my 24th season and is by far the biggest I have ever taken.
