Jacob Dupes noodled 46lb flathead

July 31, 2011

Illinois hunting and fishing

Big Fish Info

Species: Flathead catfish

Size: 46 pounds

Date: July 9

County: Will

I was walking the DuPage River looking to noddle some catfish with my buddy Dave.  We were looking in our normal hot spots with no luck. Until we walked up in a 55 gal drum, and boy, were we surprised when we found out what was inside of it. We knew there was a fish in there the first time I went under and saw a wave of mud coming towards my face, but I thought it was most likely a 5 lbs normal DuPage River cat. Little did i know it was a 46 lbs flathead. In all, a awesome day took some pictures with her and let here go.
