So close, yet so far

Hoofed a mile through some of the prettiest, yet nastiest stuff you could imagine!  Up and down and all around. Oh yeah, the quest for the big buck continues. The morning saw action on the west side of the property but unfortunately, I was on the east side. The evening was as dead as it could be with the exception of a bear…a bear? Maybe it was Big Foot? Anyway, another 45 minutes back to the truck and off to get some chow. I refuse to eat another McDonalds meal, I can only take so much.

I’ll sleep like a baby tonight only to get up at 3:00 a.m. and do it all over again. 6 more days here and then off to OH. Unfortunately, OH. doesn’t open their archery turkey season until Oct. I wouldn’t mind taking a turkey out while I’m on the road! I could roast that ole’ boy right out in the hotel parking lot as it would taste a whole lot better than a Big Mac.

The deer are acting funny. I’m not sure why but the local’s say it’s because the weather has been so cool. There is standing corn here also! It doesn’t seem to keep the deer from moving though. I saw one deer with a broken rack already…what’s that all about??? A doe stomping her hoof at a bigger buck? What’s going on here? I’m not sure but as long as I don’t hear dueling banjoes in the back ground, I’ll be OK!
