Bald Eagles and Good Manners

Illinois Outdoors

It’s prime time to head to the Illinois or Mississippi River in search of wintering bald eagles. Eagles are spectacular birds that are exciting subjects for photography. Photographers, however, need to keep their excitement in check and try not to disturb eagles. The best way to get your pictures and protect eagles at the same time is to stay in the car. All of these pictures were taken from the car during a two-hour drives around the Quad Cities area along the Mississippi River.

Your car makes great blind, keeps you warm and provides a free camera support when your window is rolled partially down.
